I am hard on scoops using them on rocky beaches. Xtreme scoops are the best I have found. The following is based on my experience after 1000 hours of use. My first scoop was titanium with a 2 piece handle. Titanium is light but it also wears. After 1000 hours of use, the scoop wore enough that the very tip started to bifurcate and curl so I had to cut the first 1/4 inch of the scoop off. Also, the pop rivets on one part of the handle started to loosen. It is probably from using too much force leveraging the scoop. I now use a one piece handle with a stainless scoop for everyday use and save the titanium scoop for travel.

I purchased a Titanium scoop a number of years ago, and after hundreds of hours of use I experienced a small issue, John at Extreme was great to deal with and resolved the issue immediately. Long time water hunter, I’ve had bunch of scoops over the years and  hands down my extreme surf master with the long handle is the best scoop I’ve ever owned. I’ve been using my Extreme Shredder scoop for 4 years now.  The carbon shaft and the scoop itself are still solid.  I dig beaches in Connecticut that have a lot of rock and layers of shells.  The tip of the scoop is worn a bit however it still gets me down to where the gold is hiding. I’m very happy with the quality and long time durability of these scoops. Best quality beach scoop made.  If you’re a serious beach hunter, want durability, comfort, and best warranty (10 years), you gotta have XTREME. I bought the stainless version and it is built like a tank.  However, if you are sticking mostly to the beach, I would highly recommend waiting for the titanium version. After breaking several CKG scoops, I finally spent the extra money for an Xtreme Scoop. I actually have a stainless Surfmaster and a titanium All Terrain. These scoops are absolutely fantastic! I'm a little bit crazy and tough as nails so I hunt in the water when most people wouldn't. I challenge my gear and these Xtreme Scoops rise to the occasion. My suggestion to treasure hunters is to buy an Xtreme scoop, Why waste a few hundred dollars on a scoop that may or may not last a few months when you can buy the best scoop on the planet and use it for years?
